HARRIET FROST BAND IN CONCERT
Saturday March 13, 7:00 || $20*
 |
"Harriet Frost's third recording Random Days features her commanding voice and distinctive melodic sensibilities rooted in the folk rock tradition with shades of gypsy jazz and pop underpinnings. Her compelling vocals and evocative lyrics bring to mind Annie Lennox, Chrissie Hynde, Jennifer Warnes and Leonard Cohen. At once provocative and resonant with an inner knowing, Frost's music explores political landscapes and personal dreamscapes. A keen observer and raconteur, Frost crafts her lyrics with the precision of a poet. Her warm and self-assured voice and effortless phrasing turn the listener into a treasured confidante." - cdbaby.co BUY TICKETS |

Director: Norbert Lechner // Germany // 2008 // 85 min

Sunday March 21
Doors: 12:30, show: 1:00
Tickets $8.00/$6.00 students/seniors
There is an uneasy peace in post-war Germany, and old rivalries simmer beneath the surface. Eleven-year-old Toni Sedlacek lives with his mother in a small village by the river, in the "gold washer's house." Like his grandfather, Toni loves searching for gold, but old hostilities continue to simmer between families, and a conflict grows between Toni and the other village children. When he actually finds gold in the cove, Toni's rivals are envious, and go out in search of their own fortune. From the sandbank, they dig out something more explosive than gold: an old carbine and ammunition, buried there at the end of the war... Based on the novel by Josef Einwanger. Winner of the Grand Kite Award for Best Film for Youth, Nueva Mirada, Argentina.
